Anton Paar introduces new DMA 502 to DMA 6002 density meter series
Anton Paar has launched a new density meter series, from the benchtop DMA 502 to the DMA 6002, with an in-house U-tube and new filling checks.
On 30 July 2025 Anton Paar announced a new series of density meters. The range starts with the benchtop DMA 502 and reaches the DMA 6002, which the company describes as its most accurate model [1][2].
Two ends of the range
The DMA 502 is the entry point, with three-digit precision. The DMA 6002 offers six-digit repeatability, according to Anton Paar. The announcements name only these two models [1][2].
What has changed
U-tube made in-house: the oscillating U-tube measuring cell is now produced completely at Anton Paar, which the company says improves production tolerances and consistency [1][2].
U-Dry: one swipe starts drying of the measuring cell, and the air pump switches on automatically [1][2].
U-Pulse: a patented Pulsed Excitation Method with a built-in reference oscillator, intended to keep readings drift-free when the measuring temperature changes [1][2].
U-View and FillingCheck: a zoomable camera image lets the operator inspect and correct filling before measuring. FillingCheck detects microbubbles, warns of filling errors and logs incidents in the results database [1][2].
Calibration background
Anton Paar states that its hydrostatic balance supports the production of ISO 17034 certified reference material and that density calibration is done in-house under ISO 17025 accreditation. It also says the instruments benefited from investment in production and calibration at its Technology Center in Graz, Austria [1].
Why labs care
Filling errors and air bubbles are a common source of wrong density and concentration results in beverage, pharmaceutical, petroleum and chemical laboratories. Built-in checks that record such events help with data review. These are the manufacturer's claims, and we have not tested the instruments.
